Introduction

You need to gather the following documents in order to apply:

  • Your valid student card.
  • An academic record with a transcript of your grades and the list of courses you have taken.
  • A statement of purpose including your motivation and research interest, or a completed application form for the undergraduate program in Turkey.
  • The confirmation form for the second stage of the application interview that will be set up by our office (only applicable if you choose to attend this interview).

1) A valid student card

Whether you’re an international student or a Turkish citizen, you will need to have a valid student card. You can apply for a student card from your university and it will be issued by the government. In order to obtain one, make sure to bring all of the necessary documents (listed below) with you when applying.

If you are not studying in Turkey but would like to study there: Students who are not enrolled in schools in Turkey can apply for a student card directly at their local Turkish Embassy or Consulate with their passport and other necessary documents listed below.

3) A statement of purpose including your motivation and research interest

This section of your grant proposal should include a statement of purpose, which is a brief explanation of what your research is about and why you want to do it. Below are some suggested questions for you to answer when writing your own statement:

  • Why do I want to do this type of research in Turkey specifically?
  • What do I hope to learn from doing this research in Turkey?

4) An interview-scheduling form for the second stage of the application

For the second stage of the application process, you will need to schedule an interview. The interview form is available on our website. You may email the completed form to [email protected] at your earliest convenience. Please note that it may take up to 2 business days for us to receive your completed form and respond with a confirmation letter via email if you are selected for an interview or not.

1) CS/Computer Engineering

Computer science and computer engineering is the study of computing and the development of hardware, software, computer systems and applications. CS/CSE (Computer Science and Computer Engineering) is an interdisciplinary degree program which combines study in mathematics, statistics and computational science with a core curriculum that emphasizes design; theory; AI; database systems; graphics; operating systems; software engineering: data structures/algorithms/programming languages.

CS students often work on research projects that are funded by external agencies such as NCRTC or NATO. In recent years this funding has been very limited but we believe that in a short time there may be more opportunities for MSC students to pursue their project ideas through CS research grants if they are interested.

2) Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Electrical and electronics engineers are responsible for the design, development, testing, and production of electrical and electronic equipment. They are employed in all industries that use electricity. Electrical engineers work in the aerospace, automotive, chemical, computer, defence, energy and utilities industries.

Electrical engineers may specialise in power systems; communications systems; instrumentation or control systems; electronics or high-voltage engineering (for example for high-power transmission lines).

They work on projects such as designing new types of computers or software used on computer networks; designing improved methods for producing chemicals from oil refineries; researching ways to minimise pollution from cars running on internal combustion engines by developing hybrid vehicles that rely partly on electricity instead of petrol/diesel fuel when travelling at low speeds (this reduces air pollution).

3) Biophysics

Biophysics is the study of biological systems at the molecular and atomic level. Biophysics is a young discipline, but it has grown rapidly in recent years. The field has many applications in biology, medicine, and industry.

The topics covered by biophysics are quite diverse and include:

  • Biomolecular structure (e.g., protein folding)
  • Molecular mechanisms of signaling pathways (e.g., cell cycle regulation by cyclins)
  • Cellular transport processes (e.g., membrane trafficking)

4) Astronomy and Space Sciences

Astronomy and Space Sciences is a research area that is highly valued in Turkey. The importance of this research area lies in its increasing demand, especially for scientists and researchers. This field provides opportunities for Turkish students to study at home or abroad, which can be very beneficial for their future careers. There are also opportunities for Turkish students to work as part of the team that conducts these studies at universities around the world as well as for them to participate in international projects by collaborating with other scientists from different parts of the world.

Students who study Astronomy and Space Sciences may focus on topics such as solar physics (the study of energy released from our sun), astrophysics (the branch of astronomy that deals with understanding how stars form and how galaxies evolve), cosmology (study about origins) etc…

6) Genetics, Biotechnology and Bioengineering

Genetics, biotechnology and bioengineering are fields of science that study the structure, function and change of living organisms as well as the processes that control these changes.

Genetics is the study of genes, heredity and variation in living things. Biotechnology uses biological processes to develop useful products like medicine from plants, animals or microorganisms. Bioengineering combines biology with other fields, like engineering.

7) Physics

Physics is the branch of science that studies matter, energy, space and time. Physics is one of the oldest academic disciplines, perhaps the oldest through its inclusion of astronomy. Over time, physics has extended outside of natural philosophy to cover new areas such as computer science and medicine.[1]

Physicists study a wide range of topics including: general relativity (Einstein’s theory); quantum mechanics (Dirac’s theory); thermodynamics; electromagnetism; atomic and molecular physics; particle physics; statistical mechanics; nuclear physics and field theory (quantum electrodynamics).

8) Mathematics

Mathematics is a broad field of study. There are many different subfields within mathematics, with applications in virtually every scientific discipline and engineering discipline. Mathematics has also been applied to the study of art and music, as well as more abstract fields such as philosophy.

There are many different kinds of mathematicians who work in many different areas. Some mathematicians focus on pure theory, while others focus on applied theory or research that has practical applications for industry or business. Other mathematicians use computers to help them solve problems and create new proofs about mathematical concepts.

9) Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Microbiology

Molecular biology, biochemistry and microbiology are three subfields of biology that focus on the molecular level. The main focus of this field is the study of biological molecules at the molecular level. This field covers a wide range of topics, including genetics, biochemistry, biotechnology, immunology and microbiology. A lot of research is done in this field with particular emphasis on genetics because it has implications for human health and disease prevention.

10) Statistics

Statistics is a broad field, and its uses are far-reaching. It is used in many fields and areas of science, including business, government and education. Statistics is used for many purposes: analyzing data to test hypotheses; making decisions about the allocation of resources; determining policy and law; improving health outcomes; conducting market research; forecasting trends; forecasting elections or other political events (election polling); performing scientific studies involving humans or animals (e.g., clinical trials); marketing products/services/ideas through various media channels including internet sites such as Facebook ads etc.
